Hiking - Circle Z Ranch
A hike to the top of Circle Z mountain is a two hour scenic hike with breathe taking views. The elevation gain is 500 feet, and considered a difficult hike. We also have the Bradford mine hike, which takes you along Sonoita Creek, up a side canyon, and finishes with a climb to an old copper mine. This is a great spot to find low to medium grade turquoise.
There are hundreds of miles of trails on and around the Circle Z that appeal to hikers of all levels of ability. Take the easy way down to the lake along the old railroad right-of-way, or head for the high country from your 4,000-foot base camp. The town of Patagonia is a “gateway” to the 600-mile Arizona Trail, with trail-heads both north and south of town.
We have GPS mapped our trails using the GAIA free app. If you are interested in hiking while you are here on vacation, let us know and we will send you the folder with our hiking trails so that you can easily navigate.
Please use caution when hiking. You will encounter wildlife, rocky trails, thorny shrubs and some steep ascent/descents. We always suggest using some form of hiking sticks, wearing long pants, having sturdy hiking boots and a completely charged phone! We are happy to help you plan you hike, just let us know!
