Aside from three wonderful meals Monday through Saturday, the evening Adult Social hour, and the awe-inspiring horseback riding, what else can you expect during a typical week at Circle Z? Here’s a peek into the incredible rides and activities of our charming Guest Ranch. This schedule is a sampling  of our activities and can change depending on the weather, our guests’ desires and riding abilities.

Sunday: Check in time is between 4 and 6 pm. After you unpack, you may enjoy a walk around the beautiful grounds. Please join us at the BYOB Cantina for Adult Social Hour at 6pm, where you will meet a few members of our Circle Z Family and the other ranch guests. We will serve a delicious dinner at 7 p.m., aware that you will be tired from a long day of travels. We will see you again in the morning!

Monday: We understand the need for an early dose of caffeine; you can enjoy yours by the fire in our Lodge as early as 6:30 am. Continental breakfast will be served at 7 am and our mouthwatering buffet style breakfast will be available from 7:30 to 8:30 am. The breakfast schedule will continue throughout the remainder of the week. The adventure begins!

Please join us at Los Corrales by 9: 15 am. Don’t forget your cowboy boots and plenty of water. Today you will meet our experienced wranglers and friendly horses. Novice riders receive some informative instruction in our round pen hosted by one of our wranglers, ensuring your safety and enjoyment. All new and old hands will take part in a walking ride as a refreshment of skills and to confirm you have been paired with the horse that best suits your needs. On average, you will return from your morning ride between 11:30 and 12 pm, with plenty of time to freshen up before the 1pm lunch bell rings.

After lunch, if you choose to participate in the afternoon ride, we ask that you please join us at Los Corrales by 2:15 pm. If you’d rather stay back and enjoy a relaxing afternoon, you may stop by the Sitting room in the adult cantina, take a dip in our heated pool, grab a racquet and test our tennis court, or simply take a nap! After all, you are on vacation. Monday is steak night, and is hosted outdoors when the weather permits.

Tuesday: We like to offer the option of an all-day ride. The details will be provided to you in advance. Determining factors include weather, group size, guests’ desire and riding abilities. We will also offer our standard morning and afternoon rides with lunch at the Ranch. Should you participate in the all-day ride, a sacked lunch will be provided at your destination and you will return to the Ranch between 2 and 3 pm.

Wednesday: Meet our naturalist, Vince Pinto. You may join him at 8 am for an informative 1 hour walk along our diverse ranch. Don’t worry, you’ll be back in plenty of time to join us at Los Corrales for our cook out ride at Creek Ranch. After lunch, cooked and served by our wranglers, you may choose to participate in some exciting horse games, a scenic ride back to the ranch, or a ride straight back to the ranch. Depending on which ride you choose, you will be back at the Ranch between 2 and 4pm. Weather permitting, get ready to enjoy some S’mores at our Bonfire after dinner!

Thursday: Yet another day in which the option of an all-day ride may be available. We will notify you in advance of the details. As usual, our traditional morning and afternoon rides are also available with perhaps a taste of some local wine. Want to see Vince again? Here’s your chance. Vince Pinto will return to the ranch after dinner to host astronomy night, where he will show you not only the breathtaking starry views of Circle Z, but also a few of the creatures of the night!

Friday: MEXICAN DAY!! Be prepared for some authentic Mexican food all day long. Also, Paul Michelsen will display his beautiful jewelry and rugs by the adult cantina for you to peruse. As usual, our traditional morning and afternoon rides are also available. Another riding option- perhaps a trailer-ride to the beautiful San Rafael Valley? Wait and see what this day may hold.

Saturday: Join us for our traditional chuck wagon ride and cookout. During nicer weather, we may sneak off just a bit earlier and relish in a breakfast ride. During the cooler winter months we prefer to serve a barbeque lunch. After the meal, the ride is up to you; a speedy return to the ranch or a longer scenic route. During cocktail hour, we have guest entertainment for young and old alike; children are welcomed to enjoy the show. When weather cooperates, we like to have a cook out on the back lawn.

Sunday: Breakfast is served as usual. Time to say our goodbyes. Check out time is at 10am.
